The U.S. Consulate in Matamoros, Tamps. is located a short distance into Matamoros along side the Rio Grande River which serves as the border between Brownsville, Tx. USA and Matamoros, Tamps. MEXICO.
Stamping is same day for the most part at this location. All stamping interviews are at 8:30 A.M. and the passport pick up time is 3:30 P.M. We recommend that you reserve your hotel room for one night and have your luggage packed up with the front desk in the event you are asked to return the following day to pick up your passport and need to stay in Matamoros overnight. There are some instances where extra verification is needed which can cause a delay of 1-2 days. Other delays can be caused by the system/printers going down, too many people, FBI security name checks.

Prepaid U.S. Visa Application Fee
- M.A.S. can assist you with prepaying your U.S. visa application fee which is required for attending your interview with the U.S. consulate in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. This service is provided for clients who do not have the payment made at the Banamex Bank in Mexico. All payments MUST be paid in person at any Banamex branch in Mexico. A deposit slip/receipt will be issued as proof of payment. You will NOT be allowed inside the consulate without the receipt.
Transportation
- M.A.S. will make the necessary arrangements to get you to and from the U.S. consulate in Matamoros and all shuttle transfers in between. Transportation will be provided directly by M.A.S. Consulate trips will last 10 + hours from start to finish.
